How I Create and Add my WhatsApp Link to my Site
Updated: Apr 20, 2020

You've probably been to sites or social media profiles where you click a button that takes you directly to the business/person's WhatsApp chat. This feature is used to let clients and customers start a chat with you through WhatsApp.
WhatsApp offers the "Click to Chat" function, which allows you to create a link that opens a new message in WhatsApp addressed to your personal or business phone number.
You can create and add WhatsApp link anywhere on your website, email or app which will open a new WhatsApp chat to any specific number.
The link will automatically open a chat with the number specified
How I create the link:
Use https://api.whatsapp.com/send?phone= followed by your full phone number in international format.
Make sure to not use the zero in front of the phone number, also eliminate the dashes or brackets.
Correct sample links below:
A Nigerian phone number 08107875564 would look like this: https://api.whatsapp.com/send?phone=+2348107875564
A French phone number 0786476345 would look like this: https://api.whatsapp.com/send?phone=+33786476345
A UK phone number 01234567891 would look like this: https://api.whatsapp.com/send?phone=+441234567891.
The links below are incorrect
api.whatsapp.com/send?phone=+234(0)8107875564
api.whatsapp.com/send?phone=+3307-8647-6345
You are welcome
